Sappanwood with Siyahi Ayurvastra Muslin Fabric - 5 meters
Sappanwood is known for its powerful cooling, antioxidant, anti-microbial, and anti-allergic properties. During the hot summer months in India, a refreshing tea made with a sappanwood infusion is consumed to help cool the body and balance Pitta aggravations due to the heat.
As a dye, sappanwood delivers bright berry pinks to violet shades. This particular shade of a dark berry with violet tones is created with sappanwood mixed with siyahi. Siyahi is a mix of fermented jaggery, palm jaggery and oxidized iron which when added to the dye bath imparts a darker shade to the sappanwood.
Our sappanwood with siyahi ayurvastra muslin is ideal for use during summer months. It is highly effective in protecting the skin from aging effects of UV rays, preventing and soothing skin irritations that arise due to high temperatures and Pitta imbalances.

Our ayurvastra muslin fabrics are woven by hand on traditional looms in Rajasthani villages by weaving communities. All our fabrics are infused with a kashayam of pure Ayurvedic herbs. Kashayam baths are charged with the incantation of the Gayatri mantra to offer gratitude to the earth and blessings for the wearer.
These fabrics are extremely soft to the touch and very light, perfect for airy garments and home accessories like curtains and table linens.
Our fabrics are not dip-dyed. The threads for both the warp and the weft are dyed (except for our undyed natural muslin), and then woven into muslins that offer vibrant, even color across the fabric.
All fabrics are triple-washed to minimize fading and shrinkage.
This fabric is crafted by hand, therefore, there may be slight imperfections in the texture and color that are characteristic of the Ayurvastra process and contribute to the uniqueness of handmade fabrics. The colors shown may also differ slightly as a result of variations in screen resolutions and color configurations.
